Terms of Service

Last updated: Wed, Aug 12, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Esraniki, including the Esraniki Discord application, web dashboard, and any other related services. By inviting Esraniki to a Discord server, logging into the web dashboard, or otherwise using Esraniki, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please stop using Esraniki, remove it from your Discord server and unlink the Esraniki integration from your Discord account.

2. What Esraniki is

Esraniki is a free and open-source Discord application and web service. It provides features including message and voice activity statistics, a configurable rules system, Twitch live announcements, Minecraft server status tracking, social mini-games, and a web dashboard for configuring these features. Esraniki is free to use and is provided as an open-source project under the GNU General Public License v3.0. The open-source licence applies to the software itself and is separate from these Terms, which govern your use of the Esraniki service.

3. Eligibility

Your use of Esraniki is also subject to Discord's Terms of Service and Minimum Age Requirements. You must meet the minimum age required by Discord for your country in order to use Esraniki or its web dashboard. If you are not permitted to use Discord under the applicable rules, you must not use Esraniki through Discord.

4. Server administrators & Dashboard access

Only users with the appropriate Administrator permission on a Discord server may configure Esraniki for that server through the web dashboard. Dashboard authentication uses Discord's OAuth2 system. Esraniki does not ask for, access, or store your Discord password. You are responsible for keeping your Discord account secure and for any actions taken through your account. You must not use another person's Discord account or credentials to access or configure Esraniki without authorization.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use Esraniki to:
  • Violate applicable law or the rights of others
  • Violate Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to Esraniki, its dashboard, infrastructure, accounts, or data
  • Interfere with, disrupt, overload, or impair the operation or security of Esraniki
  • Circumvent technical limitations, authentication mechanisms, or access controls
  • Abuse or exploit bugs or vulnerabilities without reporting them responsibly
  • Use Esraniki for fraudulent, malicious, or abusive purposes
  • Use Esraniki in a way that could reasonably cause harm to the service, its users, or third-party services on which Esraniki depends

You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or redistribute the hosted Esraniki service itself in violation of the applicable open-source licence or other applicable law. This does not limit any rights granted to you by the GPLv3 or other applicable open-source licences. A violation of these Terms may result in suspension or termination of access to Esraniki.

6. Server-provided content

Server administrators may configure or provide information through Esraniki, including rules text, Twitch channel names, Minecraft server addresses, and other configuration data. Server administrators are responsible for the content and configuration they provide through the service and for ensuring that their use of Esraniki complies with applicable law and the rights of others. Esraniki does not necessarily review server-provided content before it is stored, processed, or displayed. Esraniki is not responsible for content or activity occurring on a Discord server merely because Esraniki is installed or used on that server.

7. Third-party services

Esraniki relies on third-party services and APIs to provide some of its features. Your use of those third-party services remains subject to their own terms, policies, and privacy practices. Esraniki does not control the availability, accuracy, security, or continued operation of third-party services. Changes to or interruptions of third-party services may affect Esraniki's features. Visit the Legal Credits pages for more details on open-sources and third-party services that Esraniki uses.

8. Availability & Changes to the service

Esraniki is a free hobby project provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. I do not guarantee that Esraniki will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, accurate, or error-free. Uptime is not guaranteed. Features, commands, APIs, integrations, and the web dashboard may be changed, added, suspended, or removed from time to time. Because Esraniki is an open-source project, parts of the software may also be developed, modified, or maintained by contributors under the applicable open-source licence. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty, guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of Esraniki shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from or relating to your use of Esraniki. This includes, to the extent permitted by applicable law, losses resulting from service interruptions, loss of data, inaccurate statistics, third-party service failures, or changes to or removal of Esraniki features. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

10. Suspension & Termination

You may stop using Esraniki at any time by removing it from your Discord server and disconnecting any integrations or account connections.

I may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to Esraniki where reasonably necessary, including where:
  • You materially violate these Terms
  • Your use creates a security, legal, or operational risk
  • You attempt to abuse or disrupt the service
  • Continued provision of the service to you would violate applicable law
  • Continued access is no longer reasonably possible because of technical or third-party dependencies

Where reasonably practicable, I may provide notice before taking action. This does not prevent immediate action where necessary to protect the service, users, or others, or where required by law. Termination of your access does not affect rights or obligations that by their nature should continue after termination.

11. Changes to these terms

These Terms may be updated from time to time.
The current version will be published on this page, together with the date it was last updated. For material changes, I will make reasonable efforts to provide reasonable notice before the changes take effect where practicable. Your continued use of Esraniki after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires your express consent. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you should stop using Esraniki and remove it from your Discord server.

12. Privacy & Personal data

Esraniki processes personal data as described in its Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains what information Esraniki collects, why it is processed, how long it is retained, and how you can exercise applicable data-protection rights. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under applicable data-protection law, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), where applicable.

13. EU consumer rights

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any mandatory rights or remedies you may have under applicable consumer protection law. If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, mandatory consumer protection laws applicable to you remain unaffected by these Terms. Where applicable law grants you rights that cannot be waived or limited by contract, those rights continue to apply regardless of anything stated in these Terms. Because Esraniki is provided free of charge, some consumer-protection rules concerning paid goods or services may not apply in the same way. This does not affect any mandatory rights that do apply to your use of Esraniki.

14. Governing law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by French law, without prejudice to any mandatory provisions of applicable law that cannot be excluded or limited by agreement. If you are a consumer residing in the European Union, nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of Esraniki shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of France, without prejudice to any right you may have under applicable law to bring proceedings before the courts of another country.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law and the remaining provisions shall remain in effect.
